Frequently asked questions
Is there a dress code? What should I wear?
There are no uniforms to purchase or special dress codes! We encourage students to wear clothing they can move in comfortably and safely. For most classes you are welcome to have barefeet, but feel free to wear soft-soled clean shoes such as ballet or jazz shoes. Socks can sometimes be too slippery on the dance floor, but we recommend having a clean pair nearby to keep feet warm at the beginning of class.
We recommend that students with longer hair secure it back out of the face. Jewelry is not recommended.
How do I pay my fees?
When you register, you will be prompted to sign up for Autopay with a credit/debit card or ACH transaction. This is a terrific and convenient way to make sure your monthly payments are always taken care of and hassle-free!
Do you have any discounts?
Yes! Families with more than one student, or who take more than one class, can receive a 5-10% discount.
I've never danced before. What should I expect?
Don't worry, dance is one of the most fun and healthy activities you can do! We welcome you to come into the studio a few minutes before class to change if you need to, warm up, greet other dancers, or check in with our front desk staff.
Classes begin with simple warm-ups that prepare your body for more complex movement while also providing you with the foundational concepts for that style. Our staff will always offer accommodations to make an exercise easier or more challenging, and we encourage students to listen to their bodies and do what feels right for them.
What are your COVID protocols?
We value everyone's safety! Protecting the most vulnerable in our community is a priority for all of us at Hixon Dance.
